Congratulations to Julie and Mark! They planned a small, intimate Chanler wedding day in Newport, RI to celebrate the joining of their families. From the moment they began planning, they knew they wanted a smaller wedding along the water. It’s one of their favorite places to be. Because of that, they decided to get ready and have portraits at the New York Yacht Club. Afterwards, they were married by one of their friends at The Chanler in an intimate ceremony with their family. The entire day was elegant and ended with a small dinner at the Chanler. It was the perfect celebration for Julie and Mark, and we’re so happy we could be there to document it all!

The Chanler is a glorious, luxury hotel in Newport, RI overlooking Easton’s Beach and it’s one of our favorite spots to work. People tell us they’re drawn to the outdoor landscaping and oceanside view – not to mention, how classy it looks on the inside. We don’t blame them at all. It provides us numerous options for wedding portraits, all with a stellar Rhode Island view! A Tip for Our Couples…
While we’ve stressed the importance of using a professional photographer, no matter the size of your wedding day, we want to say it again. The essence of photography is about what it leaves behind – your story, your legacy, your memories. Julie and Mark know the importance of photography – it was something Mark started when his boys were young. They knew that, even though their day would be small, they wanted to have beautiful photos to commemorate the start of this new adventure for years to come. So we just want to reiterate that photography matters – especially on your wedding day – for you, for your family, and for your memories.
