Lauren & Steven | The Chanler at Cliff Walk Wedding

Lauren and Steven had a small, romantic wedding hosted at The Chanler at Cliff Walk, in Newport Rhode Island wedding this past fall. With 68 guests, Lauren and Steven wanted an elegant wedding day with those they love the most. They chose to get married here in Newport, RI at The Chanler at Cliff Walk because it perfectly fit the classic wedding day vision that they had. When we talked to Lauren and Steven, they wanted to maximize portrait time around their stunning venue – inside and outside. With a first look, we were able to do just that!

Although it did rain during their ceremony, we were all in awe of how incredibly the Chanler staff handled the change in weather. Within 30 minutes (no joke!) they had erected a tent for the guests along with Lauren and Steven. It worked perfectly and there was almost no hiccup in how the day flowed. Having amazing wedding vendors really does pay off!!! We feel so lucky that Steven and Lauren trusted us to help make their wedding day dreams come true.

And, speaking of trust, we want to say thank you to these two for allowing us to create photo magic, too! During the portrait time, Sara asked the bridesmaids to toss some flower petals around Lauren and Steven (which where left over from their ceremony). To be honest, we could only hope it would be epic – and it totally was! We are so thankful that Lauren and Steven didn’t bat an eye and went along with our idea. They trusted our vision and that’s such a great feeling (especially because now they have some fabulous images from it)!

A Tip for Our Couples…

Although no one ever loves Plan B (that’s why it’s Plan B!), trust that if you have to switch to your backup plans on your wedding day that it will be okay. Know that your vendor team will do whatever they can to make your wedding day Plan B just as special as the original plan was going to be. At the end of the day, whether your original plans or backup plans happen, you’re still going to be married! Please remember, you’re getting married in Rhode Island – anything can happen! That’s why we make Plan Bs. No matter what, your wedding day will be beautiful, memorable, and you’ll be able to take your vows.
