2020 has been a year filled with ingenuity, pivoting, and lots of changes – especially for small business owners. As a wedding photographer who’s been in business for 17 years, I’ve never seen our industry come together more than I have in this past year. And it’s a beautiful thing. This fall, I worked with other AMAZING Rhode Island wedding vendors that I love to put together this beautiful winter proposal with these most gorgeous emerald details we could dream up right here at Gerald’s Farm. The design and inspiration was created by Kaitlyn Haines of Gathered East. It was a great chance to get together and do something that made our hearts feel inspired. Not only that, it’s a wonderful source of inspiration for couples who need help deciding what their event looks like now, thanks to COVID! A HUGE shout out to the incredible vendors who brought my ideas and vision to life!! I couldn’t do it without any of you!
Winter Proposal with Emerald Details
Our entire shoot came together around this idea of a little inflatable igloo. We wanted to create a space that felt intimate and romantic, but was special. Just because events have to be smaller and downsized doesn’t mean they’re any less romantic. In fact, we’d venture to say they might be more romantic! Our amazing vendors pulled together some beautiful winter details to set up inside the igloo. There were adorable pinecone place cards, a tall floral display, and elegant gold accessories. For this proposal, there was (of course!) celebratory champagne and glasses, plus a sweet sign asking “Will You Marry Me?”. It was GORGEOUS. Our happy couple enjoyed toasting in their cozy igloo and enjoying the romantic atmosphere.
A Tip for Our Couples…
Just because you have to downsize your wedding day doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your incredible details. In some cases, you may even be able to add touches you hadn’t considered before since you have fewer guests. Re-allocate your budget and upgrade some of those details! A setup like this is perfect for an intimate dinner party, a romantic proposal, or even just a celebration of a special moment in your life. As the year ends and we go into 2021, let’s celebrate the good and find more moments to make even more memorable!
