Private Waterfront Estate Wedding

Caitlin and Joshua’s gorgeous waterfront estate wedding in Groton, was nothing but perfection. For Caitlin and Joshua, their wedding day was something they’d been looking forward to for a couple of years. Thankfully, they only had to downsize their day a little bit due to Covid-19 as it was all outside by the sea.

Caitlin and Joshua planned their Groton CT wedding day on a family’s private estate. In fact, they were the 6th couple in the family to be married here! The tradition just made everything more beautiful. Joshua had grown up around on site, so it was definitely a spot meant to be for them!! Caitlin and Joshua chose to do a first look before their ceremony. We just LOVE first looks! With an outdoor ceremony and tented reception along the waterfront, every detail came together perfectly for a truly beautiful wedding day for the newlyweds!

On a personal note, this was a super special wedding for Sara, as she’s been through an incredible journey with Caitlin, as well as her family and friends. We love being able to build lasting relationships with our clients and truly watching them become a married couple and family. Along the way, we all make some special memories together and it’s a process we LOVE. We’re so grateful that our team was the one capturing this special day for Caitlin and Joshua! We have been together thorough family photos, maternity photos, Red Boot Boudoir photos, and Rock your Booth Photo Booths! So their wedding day was extra meaningful.

We are ALL about planning a wedding day somewhere that’s meaningful to you. For Caitlin and Joshua, they chose a location that meant a lot to his family… and it was beautiful!! Waterfront wedding days are always gorgeous but when you add in a beautiful home on top of it, it’s perfect. When you’re planning an estate wedding, remember that an outside tented wedding reception is always a great idea, too! Whether you use the indoor or outdoors spaces, the atmosphere will be so elegant at homes like this!

A Tip for Our Couples…

If you’re having a tented reception, make sure your guests do not arrive in the tent too soon! You want your photographer to capture all the details prior to your guest arriving inside the tent! Unfortunately, it can be hard to keep guest out of your tent during cocktail hour. Work with your catering company and your photographer to make sure they will capture everything before guests come inside. Ask the catering company to encourage guests to enjoy the cocktail hour outside the tent in the designated area instead. With a little communication, everything will work out just fine!
