Alexandra & Garrett | Thames Street Wedding | Newport, RI

Congratulations to Alexandra and Garrett! Originally, these two had planned to have a big wedding this September. The original wedding wasn’t going to be here in Newport, RI. Unfortunately, they had to change plans when COVID came along… So instead, they decided to be married in Newport and have a super intimate Thames Street wedding. Newport is very special to both of them. And funny story, they called us to book on a Wednesday and were married that Sunday!! Frankly, it was a super quick booking for us. But, we’re thrilled we could be there with them!

In a quiet ceremony in a local park, Alexandra and Garrett exchanged their vows before a few family and friends. Afterwards, we were able to explore the waterfront for some portraits before they headed off for a sail on a private yacht! Honestly, their wedding day truly said “Newport RI” to us! It was beautiful – congratulations again!! And thank you for letting us be a part of it!

Thames Street Wedding

Alexandra and Garrett chose to tie the knot in a Queen Ann Park in Newport, RI right off of Thames Street. Certainly, it was a fun twist to the idea of a Newport wedding! If you’ve never been here, Thames Street runs parallel to the water here in Newport – and is one of the oldest still used streets. It was absolutely beautiful for their wedding day. Seriously, this spot wound up being perfect through their ceremony and when we moved onto their portraits, too! With smaller intimate wedding days, you can certainly make the most of some of these special venue options!

A Tip for Our Couples…

Do what makes you happy on your wedding day! For Alexandra and Garrett, choosing to take a sail around Newport after their wedding vows had been exchanged. Never underestimate the power of a good sail!! No matter where you get married, there’s going to be tons of great local activities you can add into your wedding day or weekend. Although some of these options aren’t your typical “wedding vendors”, there’s something special about being able to add these to your celebration. Without a doubt, your day should be all about celebrating how YOU want to.
