Lisa and Omar are such a special couple to us at Sara Zarrella Photography!! Sara was thrilled when Lisa reached out to her about photographing their OceanCliff Newport wedding day here in Newport, RI because we had already worked with Lisa on a very exceptional photoshoot; A few years ago, Sara had organized a styled wedding shoot at the Chanler, Newport. The images wound up being featured in Newport Wedding Magazine and Bliss Celebrations, which was so amazing! Lisa works for Calma Salon and she was a part of that original session as a makeup artist and model. About a year and a half later, Lisa and Omar were engaged!! Lisa told Sara that she had always known Sara would be her wedding photographer because of that day! How serendipitous is that?!
Lisa and Omar began to plan their elegant and classy wedding day at OceanCliff. They chose to have their wedding on a weeknight (which we LOVED!). The two included their closest family and friends for the day. We were actually able to be there for their rehearsal dinner, too, celebrating and taking part of the amazing traditions that their families shared. The first photo below is from their rehearsal dinner – look at that gorgeous sari!
The next day, we had beautiful weather for their wedding day and had plenty of time to capture the family portraits that were so important to this couple. Their gorgeous waterfront ceremony was held right as the sun was setting which meant we had beautiful light during the most important parts of the day. And, of course, we snuck them out during the reception for some awesome night shots in front of OceanCliff. Lisa and Omar, your day was seriously gorgeous!! Thank you for letting us be a part of it.
OceanCliff Newport Weddings
OceanCliff is beautiful because it’s such a great mix of waterfront property and historic estate. It provides an elegant option for those couples looking for an oceanfront view! Their ballroom has literally one of the best views of the water! A can’t miss for sure. We love photographing weddings here at this property because of the variety it provides us and our couples. It’s obvious we can’t get enough of the building’s incredible, traditional architecture and the water views. OceanCliff is a favorite here at Sara Zarrella Photography!!
A Tip for Our Couples…
Don’t be afraid to plan a weeknight wedding! Here in Newport, it’s a pretty common occurrence, actually. By having your wedding on a weeknight, not only can you make your destination wedding a full weekend experience – but, you might even save some money. Occasionally, venues and other vendors offer discounts for non-weekend weddings. Plus, when you have your wedding day on a weeknight, you can enjoy a day or two around the actual event to be with your guests who traveled in for your big day! It’s a great way to set up a destination wedding event. Give yourselves time to enjoy the location you chose.
Thank you to all the vendors who made this day possible!
