Monika and John | Greenvale Vineyards Wedding | Portsmouth, RI

Monika and John are married! We just LOVE these two and their gorgeous Greenvale Vineyards wedding day was absolutely beautiful. John is originally from Rhode Island, which is why they got married here, instead of Chicago – where they live now. Both Monika and John have children so their wedding day was about blending their families. They did such a sweet job of making sure all the children were included in their families day. In fact, they were part of their parent’s bridal party! How special is that?

This wedding was so sweet and intimate. It was really obvious that these two planned their day around what really mattered to them: their family and each other. After a quiet ceremony near the edge of the vines, Monika, John, and their guests enjoyed a beautiful tented reception. Just wait until you see the decor!! It was absolutely stunning – lots of greenery, ivory flowers, and the perfect seating. Seriously a gorgeous day!!!

Congratulations Monika and John! We know that you will have a beautiful life together! Thank you for letting us capture the start of this journey for you and your family!

Greenvale Vineyards Weddings

If you’ve never been to Greenvale Vineyards, you’re missing out! There’s really nothing more beautiful (that we can imagine anyway!) then vines along the water. From a photographer’s perspective, the light is simply exquisite at the right time of day on this gorgeous property and it’s fun to shoot at, no matter what! I mean, who doesn’t love a good glass of vino and a vineyard to match? Weddings at Greenvale Vineyards always turn out stunning because the property itself is just gorgeous. Spend some time checking them out – and enjoy a stroll through the vines imagining your wedding day here! You’ll be glad you did.

A Tip for Our Couples

Since a lot of Monika and John’s guests were from out of town, their wedding was considered a destination wedding! The downside of a destination wedding is that sometimes the event comes and goes so fast that you hardly get to see the amazing people that traveled to celebrate with you. When you have a destination wedding, think about creating some non-wedding events to see everyone. Maybe a cookout at the park or a beach day. Whatever you do doesn’t have to be a ton of money and can be family-friendly. It’s a great chance to catch up with the family and friends you don’t get to see often, and extend the celebrations just a little bit!

As a second tip for our amazing couples… We talked about this some with Chris & Jenny’s wedding recently, but a wedding is a great chance to remind everyone involved that love is unconditional. When you’re bringing together two families (especially with children involved), take the time to think about some special ways to include everyone in the big day. Include your children in your ceremony – maybe with a reading, your bridal party, or the reception – perhaps a dance or toast. It’s a great time to make your new, combined family feel more exciting and special.
