Rebecca & Scott | Backyard Wedding | East Greenwich, Rhode Island

Oh my goodness!! Being able to photograph this East Greenwich wedding was super special to us here at Sara Zarrella Photography for a few reasons. Those of you who have have been a part of the SZP Family for awhile know that before we built our dream home with our studio attached to Gerald’s Farm, we use to be in East Greenwich on Main Street. Rebecca and Scott’s wedding day was a chance to be back at our old stomping grounds. In fact, their wedding took place just four houses down from where Sara use to live – YEP that’s right, we technically could have walked to work if this was only a few years ago!

Rebecca and Scott created a beautiful outdoor backyard wedding day that was so quaint and intimate… perfect for them! Being two very warm and wonderful people, it was a true honor to be at their wedding photographing all their family and friends. If you haven’t met Rebecca, the first thing you’ll notice about is her infectious laugh. And, the second, is how creative she is. She actually did all of the flowers for her BIG day! Incredible!!! She and her mother slaved in the gardens the months leading up to the wedding to make it just perfect. Think flowers, dinner under the stars, candlelight, laughter…….. Getting to see Rebeca get ready to marry the man of her dreams in her childhood home was so moving for all of us. Just wait until you see all of the beautiful details of their wedding and lobster boil reception in East Greenwich, Rhode Island! Definitely one of our favorite days this summer! Oh, and did we mention we got to eat the Lobster?! Yes!!

Romantic East Greenwich Wedding

Rebecca and Scott truly made their backyard wedding their own. They got married in the garden of Rebecca’s childhood home with flowers all around… it was a slice of East Greenwich heaven. Rebecca had always wondered what the garden would look like set up for her wedding day and now she knows! It was so fitting to see them tie the knot somewhere that means the world to them. Their wedding is a great reminder that your wedding day can be as small and intimate or large and party-like as you want to make it. Do what feels right for you. Maybe it’ll be right in your backyard like Rebecca and Scott!

A Tip for Our Couples…

Take care of your wedding vendors! It means a lot when our couples think of us (and we know other vendors feel the same way). Rebecca and Scott were so sweet to think about what we were given for dinner… shout out for that 5 star meal, guys!!! Usually we get a cold sandwich and a bag of chips (no disrespect to caterers at all!) as a typical vendor meal. So it was nice to have something super yummy to eat! Rebecca even went so far as to make sure Sara had her beloved Diet Coke throughout the wedding day. Isn’t that incredible? On her wedding day, Rebecca thought about making sure her wedding photographer had her favorite drink (and made sure the catering company stocked it). It really means a lot to all of us that you’ve thought about us. It doesn’t take much, but it does go a long way in making us feel more at ease and able to focus on your big day!

Thinking about your vendors, especially your photographer, isn’t just about the food we eat. Taking the time to follow the tips we provide you (like having all your details together for us when we’re set to arrive so we can capture them) can also help us out, too! These kinds of things help us stay on track. Thinking ahead to your space setup is also really helpful! For example, Rebecca showed us her photos were important to her because she did small things – like not seating anyone in front of herself and Scott at the head table. Smart Cookie!!! This allowed for straight, clear shots of the newlyweds at their reception! Little things really do go a long way!!
