What do you get when you go sailing with a group of school kids? A fun afternoon at sea!
Regatta Place in Newport, Rhode Island sponsors children’s educational sailing excursions on the Schooner Aurora that take place in lovely Newport Harbor. We had to the extreme fortune of being able to photograph one of these events and be part of the experience! This is a really cool educational program for kids. Children get to sail the beautiful Bay and learn all about being at sea and the vast amount sea life that surrounds this beautiful State. They’re given a fabulous opportunity to connect with nature in a very “hands-on-deck” sort of way. They get to have a great time on the water and learn many things such as how to tie sailor’s knots, read a compass and identify sea plankton. It’s always an amazing adventure to be had by all!
