Happy Anniversary, Lauren and Alex!
What a sweet couple! The journey to wedding day started on New Year’s eve, when Alex (a normally shy guy) proposed to his beloved in front of a crowd of people (Lauren stated “I was so surprised, and it was out of his character”). 🙂
Lauren decided she wanted to work with us when she saw the images from Kimya and Jason’s wedding day (Kimya is a client at the salon where Lauren works as a hair stylist). It was so important to Lauren to work with us, that she secured our time together before she and Alex even set a date! How flattering!
The engagement photos were taken at the beach the previous summer. Since Lauren and Alex were getting married in the city, they wanted their engagement shots to be a nice contrast. We had a lot of fun; Lauren and Alex are a very casual, laid back couple. The photos were romantic and sweet. 🙂
The Wedding Day
Sara met Lauren at her house on the big day. Sara had the opportunity to meet Lauren’s family at that time, and she had a great time chatting with Lauren’s photography-loving Dad!
After a full mass at St. John Vianney, we headed to the Renaissance Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island for the reception! Lauren and Alex’s bold hot pink and blue color palette set the stage for a fun night. Guests were treated to two different flavors of cupcakes (Sara definitely indulged in both! ;-)), “Guest Libs” at the tables which told their story, and beautiful flower arrangements lovingly designed by a family friend.
The happy couple and their guests partied the night away, and we even went back outside for some night shots. Sara and Lauren’s instant bond allowed for Lauren to trust Sara to be fun and creative with her wedding photos. We love when our work leads to friendship! Thanks to Lauren, Sara has a nice hair cut 🙂 We are thinking of you both today as you celebrate your one year! xo
