The venue offers ceremonies on site in their historic Kay Chapel. Dating back to 1859, the chapel is now considered a Newport Landmark. This exquisite setting features stained glass windows, all white walls, hardwood floors, a 60’ aisle, and on-site AV equipment. The space evokes the charm of old-world Newport for modern day couples.

Depending on the overall size of your guest list, the Hotel Viking Newport offers two distinct reception spaces to host your celebration on the night of your wedding.

Viking Ballroom

Undoubtedly, the larger of the two ballrooms, the Viking Ballroom, features crystal chandeliers and gilded accents. It is adjacent to a foyer, creating an ideal flow for your guests to go from the cocktail hour to your reception celebration, especially during the colder months.

Bellevue Ballroom

Located on the lobby level of the hotel, the Bellevue Ballroom is a piece of architecture original to the hotel. Created in 1926, this space features high ceilings, oversized windows, and the ornate details of the Gilded Age. 

Courtyard

For weddings taking place in the warmer months, Hotel Viking Newport offers the courtyard. This space features cherry trees, hydrangea, roses, and evergreens, evoking a sense of whimsy from the Newport wedding venue featuring otherworldly charm. Yes, Hotel Viking Newport allows couples to schedule a rehearsal anywhere from 3-6 months prior to your wedding day. The total allotted time for a rehearsal is one hour, and your day of coordinator should be present. 

What is the total capacity of a Hotel Viking Wedding?

If you are hosting your wedding ceremony at the Kay Chapel, the space can accommodate a total of up to 200 seated guests.

For your wedding reception, the Bellevue Ballroom can accommodate up to 150 seated guests, while the Viking Ballroom can accommodate anywhere from 125 to 250 seated guests.

Hotel Viking Expected Wedding Cost

A Newport wedding at this venue is an all-inclusive experience. The venue offers space to host your ceremony and reception, along with a comprehensive food and beverage service. Your Hotel Viking wedding cost begins at the rate of $175 per guest. This base pricing includes a selection of three passed hors d’oeuvres and a plated dinner.

However, additional enhancements, such as your bar package, the addition of a raw bar, and premium entrees, are not yet included in this fee. Your final wedding cost may also be subject to event minimums, which are determined by the day of the week and month of your wedding.
