Happy Anniversary Jennifer and David!

Happy Anniversary! We want to say “Congratulations” by spending some time remembering this special day in your lives.

These two are very much in love, and they were happy to join their families on this special day. 🙂 David has two sons and Jennifer has one, and all of the happy faces I saw told me that the bride and groom weren’t the only ones who were excited!

On the morning of the big day, I met Jennifer at her suite at Oceancliff in Newport Rhode Island while she was having her makeup done. This bride LOVED her dress – she says it was the first one she tried on (and the last) – she loved it that much! I spent some time with Jennifer, capturing those pre-wedding moments, before heading downstairs for her ceremony…

The ceremony was meant to be outdoors, but Mother Nature had other plans that morning, and we had quite a bit of rain! All was well though – nothing was stopping these two from tying the knot. ☺ The ceremony was moved indoors, in the ballroom with big, gorgeous windows where they could still enjoy the view of the bay! It was a sweet joining of hearts, and David’s son served as best man. 🙂

… And just like that, the skies cleared and we were able to head outdoors for the cocktail hour – they got a gorgeous day after all! Jennifer was so happy and she kept smiling while saying, “I can’t believe this is my wedding day”. She was really in the moment and soaking it all in!

During the cocktail hour, we took some photographs, and then the newlyweds joined their guests. We went back outside later for more photos, when the sun was warmer and not so bright. Sweet moment alert: David is a soft-spoken guy, but you could see the love in his eyes. When we went back later for more photos, there was a moment where I was only photographing Jennifer, and he was just staring, in awe of his new bride. So sweet. 🙂

Pro Tip: The sun is really harsh between 11 and 2. If you’re getting married in the morning, do your photos during cocktail hour, then go join your guests and go back out later for more photos when the light is softer.

The reception in the ballroom was so much fun, with lots of dancing and laughter. Jennifer is super active – she’s a jazzercise instructor and a schoolteacher, so she had plenty of energy to dance away with her new husband. The room was filled with lots of love from friends and family. 🙂

After the reception, Jennifer and David along with their guests headed to the deck at Oceancliff for an after party, where they continued to party the night away!

Nice to meet you! I’m a pint-sized (frequently caffeinated) fireball of energy, and building genuine connections is at the heart of everything I do. One of the most meaningful parts of what we do is watching our couples go from “I do” to starting families, then returning for newborn and family photography, and even branding sessions as their lives and businesses grow. Being part of every season of your story is truly the heart of what we do.
