Brittany and Matthew’s Gurney’s Newport Resort wedding day was absolutely beautiful! These sweet newlyweds told us it was basically love at first sight when they saw Gurney’s for their wedding. They loved the muted tones of the venue, the driftwood, tons of natural light (which we loved too!) and the gorgeous view of the Pell Newport Bridge! Umm! Win Win – It was the perfect classic wedding venue for one special day!
A Classic Wedding Day
Since their April wedding day was a bit of a toss up when it came to the weather, we were grateful for the beautiful indoor spaces Gurney’s provided! Brittany and her girls enjoyed getting ready and meanwhile, Matthew was spending time with his groomsmen. After the ladies got ready, we captured gorgeous classic bridal portraits of Brittany in the ballroom at Gurney’s. She had a first look with her dad, which was so special! After her dad was able to see his beautiful daughter, she headed to meet Matthew for their first look. We were able to get Brittany and Matthew outdoors for their first look – which was perfect!! Because they did their first look, they were able to save a significant amount of time between the portraits and ceremony, allowing time for everyone to regroup before the festivities began!
Once their ceremony was over, we headed into their amazingly fun reception!! Brittany and Matthew’s family enjoyed dancing the night away – they were an amazing group. Their parents also surprised Brittany and Matthew with a visit from their college mascot. It was great!! Among the dancing, guests were able to visit our photo booth Rock Your Booth and document their time celebrating. (So it you have not checked out RYB – what are you waiting for?! Click the link BUT if you don’t like to have fun then – nah, no clicking on the link for you!!)
Brittany and Matthew, your wedding was AMAZING! Thank you for having us there to celebrate with you!! We wish you so much love and happiness!
A Tip For You Brides…
One of the best parts of the day was when Brittany and Matthew’s puppy, Parker, made an appearance. We also got to see Parker at their engagement session! So super cute!! The best thing that Brittany and Matthew did for Parker was to hire a dog handler for the day –For the Love of Paws was amazing! This allowed Parker to be around for the important moments without the stress of either the bride or groom worrying about him all day. If you’re thinking about having your pet at your wedding, we definitely recommend thinking about a handler!
