Andrea and Lee are from Massachusetts, so their wedding was a destination event for their friends and family! When we got together for their engagement session, they shared their plans for a July 4th week celebration, and it was exciting to see it all come together.

The week started with a rehearsal dinner at 22 Bowen in Newport, Rhode Island. Sara was happy to be there, because she got to meet everyone before the ceremony and the big day. Andrea and Lee had fun with their bridal party, giving them thank you gifts and sharing a great meal with lots of fun and lots of toasts.

Sara was so touched when Andrea also took the time to recognize Sara’s engagement at her own rehearsal dinner. What a nice thing for a bride to do. 🙂

The rehearsal party was also the first place the “yellow bug” made its appearance! Lee’s parents drive a super cool yellow VW Bug, and it was the subject of many photographs that we took during the rehearsal dinner AND the wedding!

Andrea and Lee are such a cute couple. People say that Lee looks like Prince William – Sara can totally see it. Their personalities complement each other, as well; he’s laid back and she’s very bubbly! And she loves her shoes…

The night before the wedding, Sara got an email from Andrea, who had found a pair of fantastic Jimmy Choo shoes that she couldn’t wait to show off in the photos. 🙂

The morning of the wedding, Sara met Andrea at OceanCliff, where she put on her fabulous dress. Andrea shared with Sara that this was “dress number 2”. She had picked out the first dress, and wasn’t in love with it. She eventually found one that she loved and she’s so happy she went with it!

Andrea and Lee’s “First Look” was prior to the ceremony at Breton Point in Newport, Rhode Island. It was very emotional, and you could see the love. 🙂 At the rehearsal dinner, Sara had learned through chatting with their guest that even though the happy couple wanted to get married, they had a lot of things they wanted to do first, like school, start their careers, and travel. When Lee proposed on a vacation in Italy, it was the right time for them. Now Andrea and Lee can join all their friends as a married couple!

After the “First Look”, we went back to OceanCliff for more pictures and prepared for the ceremony and a fun reception!

The ceremony was sweet – and complete with a trumpet performance by Andrea’s aunt during the service. 🙂

The reception was stunning; the décor was very sleek, with a white palette. Lee is a landscape designer (he was even on DIY reality shows, Indoors Out and Rock Solid!), and he created beautiful vases made out of stone and polished to show off large peonies. So gorgeous! They also had a wine bottle, spray painted black, with chalk provided so that the guests could sign it on each table.

Another special touch was the mini sequoia tree the couple gave to their guests as favors, along with a picture of them in front of one from their travels. It was lovely to see all of these personal touches throughout the day!

Andrea and Lee danced the night away with their guests, while they enjoyed the PhotoBooth, and all the details that the couple thoughtfully included in their wedding day. 🙂
