Luke & Jennifer – Goat Island Hyatt – Newport, Rhode Island

Looks like there is another DJ in the making! Meet Luke Jr. 🙂

It’s been so much fun to watch Luke grow this past year, and to see him on the dance floor at his mom and dad’s wedding this spring. This little guy loves music, just like Daddy!!

This newborn session was a lot of fun, and Luke and Jennifer loved the final results… they purchased a canvas, portraits and framed portraits to display in their home and share with family and friends.

Luke and Jennifer were married on April 20th, 2013 at the Goat Island Hyatt in Newport, Rhode Island. The couple met through a mutual friend, who is also a wedding photographer, who thought the two of them would hit off….and they did!

As we arrived at the Hyatt on the big day, we ran into Luke finishing a swim in the hotel pool and then checking on all of the DJ equipment – he is, after all, Luke Renchan of Luke Renchan Entertainment! 🙂 Of course he can’t stop working – even on his wedding day! Once all the checks met his standards, he spent the rest of the day focusing on his beautiful bride. Jennifer has a son, Keegan, who was certainly “mama’s little helper” for the day, and Luke Jr. was also there to celebrate with mom and dad. Of course Henry the stick figure was there, too (Henry attends a lot of weddings in Luke’s family 😉 ). I photographed Luke’s cousin’s wedding last October, and sure enough – Henry was there!

After a First Look and ceremony in front of the lighthouse, I was able to capture Luke and Jennifer in their first moments as husband and wife as the sun began to set.

Given Luke and Jennifer’s professions, they definitely know how to put on a good party! Exquisite Events changed the entire ballroom into a wonderland of white – complete with a white dance floor, and white piping and draping. It was a sight to behold, and we had certainly never seen the Hyatt look that way before! They even divided the room in half; one half was table settings and the other half was a lounge with white leather seating, and high-boy table tops around the white dance floor. It was sleek and absolutely jaw-dropping!

Luke and Jennifer spared no details and the guests enjoyed an espresso bar, a step and repeat, popcorn ladies, and even a “show” as the entire wedding party performed the Harlem Shuffle – complete with dry ice effects.
It was a great honor to be a part of Luke and Jennifer’s special day. 🙂
