Regatta Place Wedding with Schooner Aurora Ceremony

Congratulations to the new Mrs. and Mr.! Ashley and Robert planned a fun and unique Monday wedding day in Newport, Rhode Island. They tied the knot on the water, sailing on the Schooner Aurora – which was very different and lots of fun. Afterwards, we went to The Elms mansion for portraits so they could capture some of the beautiful greenery and estates that Rhode Island is known for. This was a great way to create imagery that differed from their boat ceremony and waterfront reception.

Finally, the newlyweds ended the night with their reception at Regatta Place, with gorgeous views of the water where they said “I do”. It was a great experience for them and their guests (and we had an amazing time, too!). Ashley and Robert told us that was one of their major goals when planning their wedding – creating an experience their guests would love. We’re think they nailed it! Depending on your venue, this is an easy way to achieve multiple looks and a variety in your final gallery. If you’re getting married on the beach, consider going to one of Rhode Island’s historic mansions for your first look or portraits. Or, if you’re having a city wedding, consider finding a local park or beach for more portraits! Ashley and Robert got married literally on the water and decided to use The Elms for more portraits on their wedding day with a lush green field and grand architecture. It was the perfect way to get more variety in their gallery as they mixed the nautical flair of the water and docks along with grand mansion photographic capture. Let their fun choices inspire you!
