Colleen & Matthew | Colt State Park Wedding | Bristol, RI

Colleen and Matthew are married!!! Their Colt State Park wedding in Bristol, Rhode Island was just beautiful. It took place overlooking the water and we even got to wander into Bristol for some wedding portraits. What a perfect Monday!

From the start, Colleen and Matthew were planning a smaller wedding day. But, COVID-19 decided to make things a little bit different for them. As they worked tirelessly to plan a date that Colleen’s brother could be in town for the wedding, the amount of people at a gathering dropped. More travel restrictions came down, and they had to make some tough decisions. In the end, Colleen and Matthew met with the Justice of the Peace on their original wedding date for a private legal ceremony. On this day, at Colt State Park, they had a small vow renewal to celebrate with their parents. It was such a perfect way to celebrate their lives together joining as one!

Colt State Park Wedding

Colt State Park runs along the historic shoreline of Bristol, Rhode Island. With a variety of landscapes including stone walls, greenery, and the beach, it’s a DREAM spot for an intimate wedding day! As Rhode Island wedding photographers, we love the unobscured view of Narragansett Bay. It lends itself to some seriously gorgeous portraits of our newlyweds!

A Tip for Our Couples…

No matter what size your wedding day turns out to be, your photographer is important. As the years go by, no one really remembers the dinner you had or the favors you gave out. But they’ll remember your wedding photos. You’ll see them every single day in your home (we hope!) and you’ll share them with your family for years to come. Invest in a good photographer, even if you have a private elopement. Colleen reminded us how important this is. Even when she was planning the first iteration of their wedding day, we were booked. As it got smaller and even more downsized than they originally envisioned, we stayed on because she and Matthew wanted us there. They knew how important those photos would be to them for all of the years ahead!
