Shauna & Nick | Belle Mer Wedding | Newport, RI

Shauna and Nick are married! Their fun Belle Mer wedding day was absolutely beautiful and full of soft pastels and nautical touches. After meeting these two at the Newport Bridal Show, we hit it off almost immediately! It was so hard to wait for their engagement session and wedding day! But, it was well worth the wait.

These two chose to tie the knot at the gorgeous Belle Mer in Newport, RI. What an amazing venue choice!! They wound up with a really beautiful day and an epic sunset!!!!!! It was actually kind of ironic because when we photographed their Castle Hill engagement session, all they wanted were sunset photos. Unfortunately, that day the sun wouldn’t play along. Instead all we got was fog for Shauna and Nick. So, when their wedding day came, we all hoped they’d have a beautiful sunset… and boy, did they!! Just wait until you see these incredible sunset photos – with NO enhancements or edits. It was seriously amazing!

Belle Mer Weddings

Belle Mer in Newport RI is a perfect venue option for couples looking for a glamorous feel for their oceanside wedding day. This gorgeous location provides a contemporary feel for weddings while still giving the oceanfront vibe. There’s multiple spaces for couples to get ready, tie the knot, and celebrate in. We love the variety! All styles of weddings look elevated and incredible in this Newport, RI space! This venue is definitely worth a look if you’re hoping for a sophisticated day by the water. When we ask couples why they choose Belle Mer for their wedding day, we’re often told it’s the ambiance. With a minimalist color scheme for their spaces and a great view of the water, it’s easy to customize for your day, feel relaxed, and ready to enjoy!

A Tip for Our Couples…

When it comes to planning your wedding day and timeline, think about what’s important to you. For Shauna and Nick, it was really important to them that they were able to have sunset portraits taken. This changed the way their reception needed to flow so that they could be at the party, too! Although couples want to “do it all” for a perfect day, the reality is that there is a timeline we need to create and follow. By talking to your vendors and expressing what matters most to you ahead of time, a timeline can be built accordingly! Basically, it helps us makes sure that your DJ doesn’t try to introduce you while you’re on the beach taking portraits at sunset. This way, everyone is on the same page – and that makes your wedding day run much smoother.

A quick bonus tip… if you’re hoping for sunset photos, make sure you check in with your photographer and venue before your day. Sometimes, depending where your wedding will take place, you may not actually get a true sunset. Although it’s easy to fall in love with wedding photos like Shauna and Nick’s, every wedding day will be different! Make sure you chat with your vendors and they’ll help let you know what’s realistic based on your venue, location, and time of day.
