Michelle & Nicholas | The Squantum Association Wedding | Riverside, Rhode Island

Michelle and Nicholas, congratulations on your traditional and gorgeous wedding at the Squantum Association in Riverside! We had a great time celebrating with you and being able to be present for your special day. Michelle and Nicholas are actually from Virginia and met while they were at church. Since Michelle grew up in Rhode Island, they decided to tie the knot here – and we’re so happy they did!!!

Although we didn’t get to meet Michelle and Nicholas until their wedding day, we were able to have a great pre-wedding consultation call, as we do with all of our couples who aren’t local. This is a wonderful way to chat with our couples and learn more about their wedding vision. For Michelle and Nicholas, their faith was key to their wedding day. They wanted to be sure that their schedule allowed for plenty of time for their first touch and prayer. By knowing what matters to our couples, we can help create a wedding day that’s everything they wanted! During their call, we also learned Michelle wanted to re-create a photo her mother had on her wedding day. How sweet is that?! Little things like that are what make wedding days so special and unique to each couple!

Squantum Association Weddings

If you’ve read our blog before, you know that we always love a chance to photograph a wedding at the Squantum Association! The Squantum Association is a phenomenal property here in Riverside, RI and provides a variety of options for couples getting married. From the great getting ready suite to a beautiful balcony for a cocktail hour, every style wedding will flourish here! Throughout the summer and fall, the island really comes to life with florals, greenery, and then as the fall hits, the changing leaves. The added bonus of a waterfront property while still maintaining the wooded feel makes the Squantum Association even more perfect for couples who desire something a bit more rustic! That rustic (yet waterfront) vibe is exactly why Michelle and Nicholas fell in love with this fun Rhode Island wedding venue!

A Tip for Our Couples…

When you’re trying to decide if you want to do a first look, remember that there are all kinds of first looks! There are true first looks, where you will see each other before the ceremony. This is a great time for extra portraits and a chance to knock out family photos, too, before the night gets busy. But, there are also other types of first looks. Like Michelle and Nicholas, you could do a first touch. A first touch can take place around a corner, opposite sides of a door, or anywhere else at the venue you want to use! A first touch might also be a chance to exchange letters or pray together without breaking the tradition of seeing each other before the ceremony! You could also exchange gifts or read private vows to each other during a first look – whether you’re seeing each other not. Whatever you envision for your wedding day, we will make it happen!

A huge thank you to the vendors who made this day possible!
