Edie & Bill | The Chanler at Cliff Walk Wedding

Edie and Bill are a super cute and laid-back couple. And, we had the honor of photographing their beautiful Newport Rhode Island Wedding. Their wedding day was small and intimate, and truly filled with the people that mean the most to them: their family, friend, and godchildren. When Edie inquired with our team, she told us that they weren’t our typical couple because all of our couples “are beautiful” and these two felt they do not photograph well. However, we think we called her bluff because these two are absolutely beautiful people – both inside and out. Their wedding day was a clear example that we’re not the only ones who think so!

The entire day it was obvious that Edie and Bill are well-loved by all of their loved ones who attended their Chanler at Cliff Walk wedding. It’s clear to these two that family runs much deeper than just who you’re related to by blood. They’ve had such an impact on so many lives. It was special to be a part of their celebration! We loved that their wedding day was truly intimate! It was great to see so much of their personalities infused into their day and all of the personal touches. For example, Edie’s brother and good friend were the ones who married them! Edie was walked down the aisle by her Godchildren and Bill walked with Edie’s niece. It was such a sweet day truly focused on their family. And we had a great time being there while capturing their magical moments!

Throughout the day, our team photographed some beautiful portraits of Edie and Bill at some of our favorite locations. During some portraits on Third Beach, a nice lifeguard even offered to watch the car for us! Although Edie and Bill were nervous for their photos, we’re happy to hear that they felt relaxed and at ease with Dan. Their Newport Chanler at Cliff Walk wedding was truly a beautiful affair celebrating two very special people. Thank you for letting us be a part of it, Edie and Bill!

Chanler Mansion Wedding

The Chanler at Cliff Walk is such a beautiful and unique property for weddings in Newport, RI. This venue sits right on the water, creating an elegant space for intimate weddings. There’s such a variety of spaces on the property which means us photographers has a lot of room to play during portraits. We also love their outdoor patio, which is the perfect spot for an evening outdoor reception space! One of the best parts about The Chanler at Cliff Walk is that it’s still an operating hotel, so you and your guests can stay there at this 5 Star Hotel – which is always a great option! Hands down our heart beats when we have a wedding to capture as The Chanler! It a pure gem and a favorite for us!

A Tip for Our Couples…

Edie told us that she had never felt beautiful in portraits before – and our team took it as a bit of a challenge! We think she was quite a beautiful bride, and we were able to get some truly stunning portraits of her (and Bill) because we know what we’re doing. Our tip for other couples out there – put your inhibitions aside on your wedding day. We know that you’ve looked through hundreds of wedding images and various photographers – and so many people start to think they won’t look like other brides or feel beautiful on their wedding day!

But here’s the thing, if you hire the right person, they’ll bring out both your inner and outer beauty during your wedding portraits. The right photographer will use their technical skills and the person you are to create stunning portraits. You are beautiful so let all your portraits shine! Hire a photographer that knows what they are doing and the results will be brilliant “we promise”!

The bottom line: Never compare yourself to other models out there – just remember the models have had more time in front of the camera than you have, but that doesn’t matter! Your day will be special and perfect, no matter what!
