Congratulations, Caitlin and Sean! Your beautiful summer Newport Beach House wedding was absolutely stunning!!! Caitlin and Sean’s wedding was incredibly important to our studio because we’ve known Sean’s family for a VERY LONG time (fun fact: Sean’s sister is an old friend and also has been part of the SZP crew for years and she has been such a big help to our team!!!) This is the second wedding we have captured for their family and we hope not the last (wink wink).
Caitlin and Sean traveled to Newport RI for their wedding day since Sean’s family is here and he was born and raised in “Little Rhody”. Then again, what better place to say “I Do” then Newport, Rhode Island?!!! The two had actually tied the knot already in a private church ceremony with their families the weekend prior, but they decided to have a fun beach ceremony to celebrate and bless their marriage. What a great idea – and way to celebrate with all of your family and friends!!
Their wedding day was a bit foggy, which turned out to be a beautiful and unique day! Let us tell you… photographing in fog is sooo cool and truly different! They were blessed with a perfect sunset that night, which allowed us to capture some gorgeous beach portraits! Win Win!
Caitlin and Sean made sure their day was really about the two of them. They decided not to have a bridal party, which meant they really wanted to focus on just the two of them saying “I do.” Oh, and of course their little one four legged- tail baby was part of the day! Another fun little twist… during their reception Caitlin surprised their guests with an Irish step dance! She pulled on her Keds and a few of her dancing friends hopped up to help her celebrate. How awesome is that?! It was seriously such a wonderful day from start to finish at The Newport Beach House!! She totally has skills!!
Newport Beach House Weddings
Newport Beach House is such a GORGEOUS option for anyone who wants a toes-in-the-sand type wedding! This sophisticated venue is part of Longwood Properties and a sister venue to Belle Mer. We love Newport Beach House because it’s got a great Newport Rhode Island vibe and has a lot of beautiful spaces for brides, grooms, and guests alike. One of our favorite spaces is the upstairs, where Caitlin got ready! There’s so many beautiful windows (yay natural light!) and the white palette makes it a dreamy spot to get ready. Downstairs, there’s a ballroom that goes out on to the patio to the beach. It’s a bit smaller which makes for a more intimate reception feeling. No matter where you choose to hold your day’s events (the upstairs or downstairs ballrooms) in Newport Beach House, you won’t be disappointed!
A Tip For Our Couples…
Don’t worry about what everyone else does on their wedding day when planning your own. Your wedding day is all about you and your spouse. So, if you want to be traditional and have a wedding party? Go for it! You’ll make some great memories with people you LOVE! Don’t want one? Then don’t have a bridal party like Caitlin and Sean! Sure, maybe it’s a “break from tradition” but there’s something to be said about being able to spend the day focused on just you and your soon-to-be-spouse. Your day immediately becomes more intimate and the atmosphere is a lot more relaxed.
And a quick second tip, too! We’re all about the free help today, ha! When you plan your wedding day, bring something to the day that’s really you. Maybe that’s a hobby you have together or a cultural item or tradition you want to include. Make your day your own by incorporating whatever really matters to you. We can’t all be amazing dancers like Caitlin, but we all have something special we can bring to our wedding day! Start thinking what you can bring to your wedding day that puts your personality stamp on your big day!
