Jane & Robert
What an absolute joy it was to work with Jane and Robert! Their engagement session and wedding were just so much fun for us, and we are so honored to have been a part of their special moment in time.
The engagement session, a month before their big day, was held at The Farmer’s Daughter in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. The day was lovely, with fun photos featuring perfect fall foliage, pumpkins, haystacks, and gourds. This was such an appropriate spot – Jane’s dad was a farmer! So she is “The Farmer’s Daughter” (wink wink)! I immediately fell in love with them – Jane’s laugh was positively infectious 🙂
The Big Day!
Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, Rhode Island
They had the exact wedding they truly wanted, with lots of laughs, smiles and detail throughout the ceremony and reception. I loved how creative Jane is (I called her “Pinterest Jane” 🙂 ). She loved finding ideas for her special day and “pinning” them to share. She’s super creative, and her creativity was obvious throughout the day!
Fun fact: Jane kept her dress color a secret from everyone! On the morning of the wedding, she presented her groom with a blue tie. It wasn’t until that moment that Robert knew what color his bride would be wearing. 🙂
On the big day, we met at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, Rhode Island for the First Look prior to the ceremony. Our First Look was at 3:00 pm. The number 3 is very important to Jane and Robert, as it was meaningful to them throughout their courtship, and so it was a common theme throughout the day, including the wedding date! It was very, very cold out for their First Look, and Jane was a trooper. She weathered the cold with a smile!
Pro Tip: Please have a shawl when getting married in cold weather. Regardless of what you think the temperature may be, be prepared for the cold. It’s always better to have something warm to wear and not need it, than need it and not have it! Especially during the fall months, you’ll want to have photos taken outside because of the foliage. Get a nice pair of gloves, or a shawl, or cute earmuffs. Even if you have these reinforcements just for in-between the photos, you will be happy you were prepared!
As guest started to arrive, Jane went inside to freshen up and we all gathered to watch Jane and Robert exchange their vows. It was time! 🙂
The intimate ceremony inside Kirkbrae was beautiful, with their children and grandchildren as part of the ceremony. It was easy to see love these two have for each other.
After the ceremony and a cocktail reception, we headed into the ballroom for their first dance as husband and wife. Jane and Robert celebrated their love surrounded by all of the people who are important to them. They danced and laughed in their playful, spunky way, and had the time of their lives. What’s better than getting everyone you love together in one room to celebrate your love? 🙂 Oh and of course there was a floral arrangement waiting for Jane at her table from Robert ….why you ask? On the 3rd of every month, Robert gives her flowers…super cute!
