Love-notes

Katharine & Ryan

SaraZarrella_LoveNotesSaraZarrella_LoveNotesMaternityI cannot say enough about how perfect Sara Zarrella Photography was for our wedding! Sara and her team were so helpful and patient during the planning process, and very responsive by phone and email. Sara made great suggestions, like adding her photo booth, and I have to say it was the hit of the party! Her packages are great, and allow for some “a la carte” options. Sara and her team where incredibly professional on the day of and put great effort toward addressing family members by name, and not confusing people- with blended families this can get quite complicated!

After the big day, Sara and her team don’t lose their enthusiasm and keep the album prep process exciting and stress-free, while being patient with choosy brides. Family and friends are gushing over our 11×14 print, that we had Sara frame, for its uniqueness and romance. And our album is absolutely gorgeous. For gorgeously-edited and romantically-inspired photos, choose Sara Zarrella Photography!

SaraZarrella_LoveNotesSaraZarrella_LoveNotes_EngagementsSara is AMAZING!! I have worked with Sara in several capacities….

1. Sara photographed my sister’s wedding in 2010. My sister who is a bit shy and doesn’t love being photographed was completely at ease with Sara. As a member of the bridal party in my sister’s wedding I can tell you that Sara did a great job keeping the natural bridal party chaos controlled enough to get great images while still allowing us to have a great time. My sister and brother and law could not be happier with their images, and their album is beautiful.

2. I worked in the wedding industry and have worked with Sara on photo shoots as well as weddings of shared clients. Every client that has booked her has been so happy. On the business side of things she is responsive, a perfectionist, and a true photo artist. Beyond that, she is fun to be around and really cares about her clients.

3. Sara will be photographed my wedding in April. The process thus far has been so easy.  I did do a “red boot” session with her-she made me feel completely comfortable, gorgeous, and honestly empowered. And my fiancé loved the gift 🙂 I totally recommend doing a Red Boot session!

We chose Sara to be our photographer because of the wonderful experience and product that my sister received in conjunction with just loving her. My fiancé hates few things more than having his picture taken but with Sara he was completely comfortable.

Beyond these 3 major items I have also hired Sara to photograph one of my best friends engagement photos as an engagement gift and another best friend’s newborn images when she had her baby last year. I am 100% confident in Sara and her work.

SaraZarrella_LoveNotesWeddingSaraZarrella_LoveNotesMy husband and I have been using Sara Zarrella Photography for the past 12 years. Sara and her staff are very professional and always wonderful to work with. They always make sure we are incredibly comfortable and consistently deliver the best photography has to offer from formal pictures to a more modern photojournalistic style picture. We feel that Sara and her staff have become part of our family throughout these years. They have captured every significant moment of our lives together from our engagement pictures to our wedding, our maternity pictures to our children’s first years of life. I wouldn’t have trusted these once in a lifetime memories to any other studio!

We are so exceptionally pleased with all of our beautiful pictures and Storybook Albums, it is truly a blessing to have these memories forever lasting in beautiful photographs! We look forward to many more years with Sara Zarrella Photography!

Christina & Shane

SaraZarrella_LoveNotesFirst and foremost, Sara is a great photographer, period. When I woke up the day of my wedding and saw that is was pouring out, the first thing I thought about was how my hair was going to hold up with all the humidity in the air, not where I was going to have my pictures taken. Most people would think the latter would be my biggest concern, but just knowing that Sara was my photographer, I knew that my pictures were going to come out fabulous. Sara just has the eye to make the most any setting she photographs in. Two perfect examples would be the picture of Shane and I on the bar in the ballroom and the picture of Shane lying across the DJ’s table surrounding by my bridal party. Sara managed to make my 6’3”, 260 pound husband lying across a table look elegant. She calls herself Sara Zarrella, but the name Houdini comes to mind when looking at this picture.

I can honestly say that I absolutely love every one of my wedding photographs from the candids to the formals. Sara managed to snap fantastic pictures of each and every event that took place throughout my wedding reception, from the moment I was announced as Mrs. Shane Harrold to our last dance, all with 213 guests crowded around her. To me, this was not easy task when dealing with two of the least photogenic people (Shane and I) in the universe.

In closing, I would recommend Sara Zarrella to absolutely anyone. I am the most picky and hard to please person with almost everything and I make statements like this on a very seldom basis. My husband and I could not be more pleased with Sara’s work and professionalism.

SaraZarrella_LoveNotes WeddingSaraZarrella_LoveNotesMaternityAfter getting engaged in 2007, we met with Sara and talked with her about what we were looking for as far as engagement pictures go. She made us feel very comfortable. We used her for our engagement pictures and she did such an amazing job that we decided to use her for our June 2008 wedding as well. She captured every moment at the wedding and the pictures came out perfect. We were very pleased. Everyone who sees the “Storybook” album she created is stunned. I have seen many wedding albums but nothing compares to this. She captures all the most “important things” and puts them into a story. We could not have been happier. We also received a DVD to music (our wedding song was on it) that showed some of the unique pictures she took. That is something very special and we love to watch it.

Sara is not your “typical” photographer. She gets the most incredible shots, ones you aren’t prepared for (which always make the best). When my husband where expecting our first baby, we scheduled a maternity session with Sara. Since then we have had baby number two with numerous family photos.  We will always use Sara for any photos we need taken in the future and would highly recommend her to everyone!!!

Thanks so much Sara for making our day perfect and for all the years in photographic memories!!!

SaraZarrella_LoveNotes_WeddingSaraZarrella_LoveNotes(1)Sara Zarrella Photography did an exceptional job with my Red Boot (boudoir) Photos as well as our November 23, wedding!!! I would whole-heartedly recommend Sara to anyone looking for that perfect balance of professionalism, phenomenal talent, and a true investment in the client. Sara Zarrella was (and continues to be) as wonderful to work with as she is talented; she has made the wedding photography process easy- every step of the way!

Leading up to the wedding, Sara met with my husband and me to discuss the types of shots we were looking for, with whom, and in what location. She truly listened and made valuable recommendations regarding orchestration of people for each particular shot and timing for the overall agenda for the day. She arrived at the venue ahead of time to look around and establish potential pictures she thought we would enjoy! Sara really did her homework – and it showed! She captured angles and lighting from the venue and city hall (where we had the Bridal Party pictures) that I would have never thought would look as brilliant as a background!!! Based on their high quality of work, enthusiasm, and professionalism, it is certainly clear that Sara Zarrella Photography takes pride in everything they do and strives to make the client happy!

Thank you, again, SZP, for tremendous work and a wonderful overall experience!

Kate & Jamie

SaraZarrella_LoveNotesDuring our wedding planning, choosing the right photographer was one of the most important items for us.

We scoured so many photographers in the Rhode Island/Boston-Area that we heard of via wedding magazines/blogs/word of mouth. We met with a few and were specifically looking for photographers with updated/modern websites that featured fun blogs that easily captured their clients’ special days. By capturing, we mean having photos that had many “spontaneous” photos with more of a news story effect, rather than a bunch of posed photos.

For us, we wanted a modern style, less boring/formal that you can easily get anywhere. It was worth the price to get a more creative photographer to capture the emotions of the day.

Sara was one of the top on our list that fit all of our criteria.

Sara blew us away throughout the entire process. She was honest and straightforward for what to expect, and took any concerns or requests we had very seriously. She is also super organized which is a breath of fresh air when dealing with all the madness of planning a wedding. She also seems to know all the venders in the wedding business which allowed us to just focus on getting married. Her fun and spunky personality made us feel very comfortable during our wedding day. You could tell her and her team, loved what what they we’re doing and really complemented each other.

The photos turned out amazing. The angles, color, and other choices Sara made blew us away. She provided a great combination of formal and spontaneous shots. The photos truly captured our day.

One of the things we did is provide Sara a wish list of the photos we would like to have. It was pretty specific and no easy task. She delivered.

If you do decide to go with her, one of our best pieces of advice would be to listen to her and do engagement photo session. It’s a great way to see how you work with her and what she’s all about. It had no obligation when we did it. We ended up buying a few photos after that, even when we didn’t plan to originally. We liked them so much.

If she’s available, we highly recommend choosing her.

Kelly & Patrick

SaraZarrella_LoveNotesWeddingSaraZarrella_LoveNotesSara Zarrella was a pleasure to work with. She and her assistant, were energetic, fun, and have an intrinsic sense of what makes a good shot. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them.

From the very beginning of our wedding process, Kelly knew she wanted Sara Zarrella. Kelly was attracted to Sara’s style, subtleties, and unique shots that quite honestly she did not find in other photographers that our friends recommended. Also, it was very important to us that our photographer had previously shot both our church and reception venue, and Sara had albums upon albums to show her past work at both places. What sold me on her was that, when we met for the first time in her office, I was thoroughly impressed with her work. Her material looked professional; she spoke technically when I asked technical questions, artistically when I asked artistic questions; and basically set me at ease about the whole process.

Sara captured all the standard moments that are required for a wedding photographer, but that is not what makes her stand out. Rather it was the photos of both the little, poignant moments, as well as the grandiose, larger-than-life shots that repeatedly make us –and those whom we show our photos to– go “wow.”

Sara was extremely flexible with our engagement shoot, (we walked up and down Main St. in East Greenwich, which is perfect for differently colored backdrops and “scenes”), but she also does many other places. Upon reviewing the engagement pictures, we were very specific, (perhaps overly so), about what we liked and disliked and she was VERY diligent in taking notes to prepare for the actual wedding day.

As for our wedding day itself, Sara goes with the bride and her assistant goes with the groom. My wife has commented many times that the day of the wedding Sara was not only the photographer but also a friend. She was wonderful with all the family and provided a sense of calm throughout each shot. When it came to the guys, her assistant was very prompt, fit right in with the groomsmen who were also getting ready with me, and blended right in while taking pictures — the pre-ceremony photos were not obtrusive at all.

As for the ceremony itself, the photos we received are incredible. They really captured the atmosphere, all the family and friends, “The Dress!”, and the excitement of us actually tying the knot.  The formal photo session in between the ceremony and reception was a lot of fun as well. We have dozens of pictures that Sara “directed” with the bride and bridesmaids looking gorgeous, the groom and groomsmen looking like studs, and as a group really fun and natural.

Our reception photos are similarly incredible, capturing all the obvious highlights but also every couple at every table, all family members, and craziness and laughter during the dancing! We also chose to do her photo-lounge/ photo booth during the reception, which captures both photo and video. That was definitely great to have for our guests as it gives them something to take home with them. The props were also a blast once we broke them out on the dance floor!

We chose to give our parent-albums as Christmas presents, and they did not disappoint. Sara is again extremely flexible with their contents, you can have one set of photos for the bride’s parents and one for the groom’s, (which helps, trust us!).

The storybook album is totally what you make of it. The photo spreads in the album are stylish and modern but also can also be made as classical-looking as you want. Also, both Sara and her team really want to give you the album that you hope for, and are very receptive to your input if you want to make changes to any spreads.

Lastly, Sara got shots of many things throughout the day that we had not even thought of to ask for. She provided memories that we would have completely forgotten about had it not been for the photos.  Since our wedding we have gone back for Sara’s Santa Event that she does each year for family photographs.  Kelly and I really cannot recommend Sara Zarrella highly enough. If you choose to go with her you will definitely not be disappointed.

Lynsey & Bob

SaraZarrella_LoveNotesBob and I could not have chosen a more perfect photographer/photo novelist to capture our wedding day. We had so much fun with Sara on our big day, bouncing from boat to boat, to a pumpkin field, to downtown Newport and of course our actual wedding. Sara has such a natural talent for photography. When Bob and I were looking through our proofs, we were so impressed with her creativity and thoroughness. Then we saw the finished product and we were blown away! Bob and I did not have a videographer for our wedding and that was our only regret, until we watched the DVD slideshow she put together, the regret is no longer! Sara has such a talent and knows what moments to capture (all of them)!

Sara, thank you so much for everything you have done for Bob and I. You’re truly amazing! We are so excited and look forward to having you as our family photographer!
